The representatives of ANAS took part in the international scientific and practical conference in Minsk and the 34th session of the International Association of Academies of Sciences (IAAS).

The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus organized an international scientific-practical conference on "30 years of the Commonwealth of Independent States: Results and Prospects" and the 34th session of the International Association of Academies of Sciences (IAAS) in Minsk.

The event was attended by Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Ibrahim Guliyev, Director of the Institute of Economics, Doctor of Economics Nazim Imanov, Director of the Institute of Physiology named after Abdulla Garayev, Doctor of Biological Sciences Ulduz Hashimova and Head of Laboratory of the Institute of Physics, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Ogtay Tagiyev .

Making a speech at the event, Academician I. Guliyev gave detailed information about the large-scale cooperation activities carried out by ANAS with IAAS member organizations in the fields of fundamental, applied, humanitarian and social sciences and noted that this cooperation has been especially developed in the last 5 years. The scientist noted that within the framework of the project competitions implemented jointly with the Russian and Belarusian academies of sciences, scientific foundations and committees, the scientists of ANAS conducted joint researches with their counterparts. During these years, 20 joint projects with Russian scientific institutions in fundamental and applied fields, natural sciences, humanities and social sciences, and 15 joint projects with Belarusian colleagues have been implemented. At present, ANAS together with the State Committee for Science and Technology of Belarus has announced the 2nd project competition. Also, about 70 cooperation documents were signed by ANAS with the relevant agencies of these countries.

Contacts with scientific institutions of the  Republic of China have also expanded. This is especially noticeable in the field of humanities and social sciences, as well as in the direction of high technology and petrochemistry. Within the framework of the agreement signed between ANAS and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, economic forums were held in Azerbaijan (2018) and China (2019) with the participation of scientists from 2 countries, and the prospects for scientific development were discussed.

Special attention was paid to cooperation with scientific institutions of Moldova, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Within the framework of this cooperation, various events and joint publications have been prepared both in the exact sciences and in the humanities.

ANAS scientists, actively participating with their Georgian colleagues both in bilateral projects and in regional projects supported by various international funds and programs, have achieved significant results.

ANAS continues to expand international relations, and in recent years documents on scientific cooperation have been signed with the Academies of Sciences of Mongolia and Montenegro, as well as joint action plans are being prepared.

Academician I. Guliyev said that with the support of NANA and the CIS International Foundation the following scientific seminars was held 3 times (2016, 2018, 2019) in Baku on the topics "The development of scientific relations at a new stage: dialogue and cooperation", "Physics and Lyrics: the World", "Experience and realities of science and literature of the CIS" and "Rock Culture: Myth, painting and the world", at which scientists and experts of IAEA member organizations made scientific reports.

At the events held in Minsk, the  member states discussed science and innovation, economic impact, fundamental problems of Epidemiology, scientific and technical cooperation on the use of space, etc. discussions were held in the directions, BEAA scientific councils on a number of fields were approved.
