On February 24, at the Presidium of ANAS, Acting President of ANAS, academician Arif Hashimov met with representatives of the National Contact Points Network of European Commission Research and Innovation Program
The coordinator of the NCP, vice-president of ANAS, academician Ibrahim Guliyev, head of the department of international scientific cooperation of the Presidium of ANAS, doctor of philosophy in biology, associate professor Esmira Alirzayeva, head of the scientific-organizational department, doctor of philosophy in physics, associate professor Rustam Rustamov, as well as newly elected members of various public organizations of Azerbaijan, scientific institutions of ANAS, educational and health institutions were presented in the meeting.
The event was inaugurated by the head of the Department of International Scientific Cooperation of the Presidium of ANAS, Doctor of Philosophy in Biology, Associate Professor Esmira Alirzayeva. She informed about the activities of the NCP, which organizes the delivery of information about the program to relevant enterprises, organizations and specialists across the country, as well as about the activities carried out within the framework of the European Commission's Horizon Europe program and problems and future programs.
E.Alirzayeva mentioned the requirements set by the European Commission before the NCP. She said that the network provides support to relevant enterprises and individuals with high professionalism, informing researchers and entrepreneurs on time, regardless of their field, covering all areas of the network, supplying access to the NCP, conducting trainings on specific topics for target groups, etc. tasks.
She called attention to the statistics on the participation of Eastern Partnership countries in Horizon 2020. Speaking about the work done by members of the Council in this direction in Azerbaijan, the head of the department said that for this purpose, informational seminars and webinars on "Horizon 2020" took place for scientists and specialists of Azerbaijani science, education and health institutions, as well as about the COST and Maria Sklodovskaya-Curie programs was regularly presented in the media.
Alirzayeva also touched on the priorities of the new framework program Horizon Europe and the allocated financial opportunities. She spoke about Israel's successful experience in this area, in addition to the experience of leading organizations.
In their speech the seminar members emphasized the results of recent activities and problems they face. Also, proposals were made and discussions were held on the proper organization of the promotion to increase participation in the program.

Finally, academician Arif Hashimov made proposals to Azerbaijani scientists and specialists to develop an action plan to increase the use of broad opportunities of the Horizon Europe program, arrange the activities of NCP members in this direction, expand relations with partner organizations in priority areas. He stressed the importance of holding regular meetings and discussions with members of the NCP.
